Fern (Evans) Robertson

October 19, 1949 — February 1, 2014

E. Fern Robertson, daughter of the late Orval Claud and Norma Arlene (Hathcock) Evans, was born on October 19, 1949 in Gainsville, Missouri, and departed this life suddenly on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at her residence near Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 64 years of age.

Fern grew up in the Dawt Mill Community in Ozark County, Missouri, and attended the Gainsville School. She was united in marriage to Francis Robertson on June 10, 1967 in Mtn. Grove. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove area for many years.

Fern worked at Wal-Mart in Mtn. Grove for forty years. This past Thursday, on January 30th, her co-workers held her a big celebration. She loved her job and enjoyed the customers she came in contact with. She was always very helpful and kind and willing to do any job that needed to be done.

Fern enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals with her sisters whenever she got the chance. She liked tending to her flower gardens each year and spending time in her yard.

She was a loving and caring wife, an awesome mother, special “Granny” to her grandchildren, special sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. They always looked forward to spending the night at “Granny’s” house and being spoiled. She loved to cook for her family and was known to them as the best cook around. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Fern was saved at a young age and was baptized along with her husband, Francis, in 1972 in the Christian Church in Mtn. Grove. She attended the Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church near Mtn. Grove, and was saddened by having to miss going on Sunday if she had to work.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Dave Evans and Donnie Evans.

Fern is survived by her husband of almost forty-seven years: Francis Robertson of their home; two sons: Corey Robertson and Wayne Robertson and his wife, Stephani, of Mtn. Grove; one daughter: Beverly Robertson, of Mtn. Grove; four brothers: Bob Evans and his wife, Wanda, of Mtn. Home, Arkansas, Junior Evans of Tecumseh, Missouri, Jim Evans and his wife, Regina, of Ava, Missouri, and Larry Evans and his wife, Rhonda, of Mtn. Home, Arkansas; two sisters: Linda McCrea and her husband, Junior, of Houston, Missouri, and Annie Sloan of Mtn. Grove; three grandchildren: Bailey Halford, Blaine Halford, and Weston Robertson; and a host of other relatives, friends, co-workers, and friends.
