Florence Jane (Hovey) Sartor

Florence J. Sartor, daughter of the late Culver F. and Jessie P. (Ellsworth) Hovey, was born on November 30, 1931 in Waubeek, Iowa and departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at 80 years of age.
Florence grew up and attended school in Iowa. She was united in marriage to Bill “W.D.” Sartor on December 22, 1950 in Rock Island, Illinois. They moved to their farm near Mtn. Grove, Missouri on June 6, 1955. Four sons were born to this union.
Florence enjoyed taking care of her family. She also liked to sew, quilt, and tend to her vegetable gardens each year.
Florence was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was saved and baptized in 1980. At the time of her passing, she enjoyed attending church services at the Almost Home Ministries Church in Mtn. Grove.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: W.D. Sartor; one son: Lonnie J. Sartor; a granddaughter: Jessica Fay Sartor; four brothers: Forrest Hovey, Leonard Hovey, Vigil Hovey, and Willis Hovey; and by three sisters: Addie Phelps, Jessie Blasdell and Dorothy Schuler.
She is survived by three sons: James E. Sartor of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, Steven L. Sartor and his wife, Cheryl, of Norwood, Missouri, and Terry L. Sartor and his wife, Tracy, of Ava, Missouri; a daughter-in-law: Sandra Sartor of Hartville, Missouri; one brother: Cully Hovey of Rock Falls, Illinois; one sister: Ruth Baker of the State of Illinois; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
