Frank Dearmond

December 27, 1932 — August 23, 2022

Frank Marion DeArmond, the son of Chester “Dad” DeArmond and Agnes “Maw” (Cummins) DeArmond, was born December 27, 1932, in Springfield, Missouri. Frank grew up on the family farm near Seymour surrounded by his extended family.

In December 1952, Frank met Anita Duckworth and they were married on May 24, 1953. They celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this year. Their family soon grew with the birth of their daughters, Judy, Karen, and Tammy.

Frank gave his heart to Jesus in 1954 during revival at Lone Star Free Will Baptist Church. Frank later joined the church and was a member for over 50 years. He devoutly served the Lord the remainder of his life. He spent time daily reading his Bible and devotionals and remained in church as long as his health allowed.

Frank must have driven a million miles in his lifetime. He was always behind the wheel of a milk truck, cattle truck, or a school bus, making lifelong friends with each endeavor. Frank retired from Seymour Schools in 1996 after driving a school bus for over 30 years. His generations of “Bus Kids” remained special to him even after retirement.

Frank and Anita moved from their farm to town in 1979 but continued to raise beef cattle on the farm well after their retirement years.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and his infant brother, Charles.

He leaves behind his wife, Anita, daughters, Judy Richter and husband, Gary, Karen DeArmond, and Tammy Wright; grandchildren, Michelle Bradley, Michael Street, Amanda Wright and husband, Luke, Dusty Claxton and Kallun Wright; great grandchildren, Jordan, Tanner and wife, Lori, Austin, Colten, Jade, Lawson, and Karleigh; great-great granddaughter, Brooklynn, brothers and sisters in law, Junior. and Rosalie Duckworth, Larry and Wanda Duckworth, Jalane and Eddie Childress, Joy Duckworth and Kenneth Myers; several cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as special friends, Steven Wright, John Claxton and Greg Daily.
