Geneva Mae Bell

February 26, 1930 — November 8, 2007

Geneva Mae Bell, daughter of the late James Levi and Velma O. (McDaniel) Hicks, was born on February 26, 1930 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and passed away on November 8, 2007 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 77 years, 8 months, and 13 days of age.
Geneva grew up in Jonesboro and moved to California where she attended school in different locations as the family traveled. She was united in marriage to Grady Campbell. One daughter was born to this union. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death. She later married L.Z. Bell on June 25, 1972 in Oregon, Illinois.
She was employed as a production worker for General Electric for several years.
Geneva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and going out to eat with them was always fun.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, fishing, watching westerns on T.V. and reminiscing with her family. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
She is survived by her husband: L.Z. of their home; one daughter: Linda Susan Kincaid of Hartville, Missouri;one stepdaughter Susan Ashter of Forreston, Illinois; Three step sons: Rusty Bell of Seymour, Rod Bell of Mansfield and Eric Bell of Vanzant; three brothers: Jimmy Hicks of Stillman Valley, Illinois, Buford Hicks, of Bryon, Illinois, and Jerry Wayne Hicks of Chana, Illinois; six sisters: Belva of Rockford, Illinois, Wanda Goble of Manila, Arkansas, Jean Stucker of Rochelle, Illinois, Shirley Holmes of Rockford, Illinois, Venita of Rockford, Illinois, and June of Monroe Center, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Funeral services for Geneva Bell were held Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Bell officiating. Song selections were “Amazing Grace,” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain.” Pallbearers were Rusty Bell, Rod Bell, Rodney Bell II, Eric Bell, Dale Bell, and Paul Bell. Burial was in the Pleasant Home Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home in Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
