Gerald 'Ray' Zieber

July 12, 1937 — May 5, 2011

Gerald Ray Zieber, son of the late Joseph Franklin and Etta Estella (Kirk) Zieber, was born on July 12, 1937 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on May 5, 2011 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. He was 73 years, 9 months and 23 days of age.
Ray grew up and attended school in the Mtn. Grove area. He was united in marriage to Betty Rose Coble on May 7, 1960 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Two children were born to this union. Betty passed away on March 25th of this year.
Ray was employed by Morris Implement Company which later became Chasteen Tractor for about forty years. He tried retirement for six months and then went to work for Wehr Motors delivering parts, which lasted six years.
Ray was known as “Little Ray” to his friends and neighbors. He was well known for being one of the best Hay Baler mechanics in the country. He loved to tinker on things and visit with his many friends.
He is survived by his son: David Zieber and his wife, Teresa, of Mtn. Grove; his daughter: Tracy Zieber and Glen Minks of Springfield, Illinois; one brother: Paul Zieber and his wife, Rita, of Mtn. Grove; one granddaughter: Missy Crites and her husband, D.J., also of Mtn. Grove; and other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.
