Golda Enda Casey

October 7, 1916 — November 4, 2007

Golda Edna Casey, daughter of the late Preston C. and Mary (Stottlemyre) Stallcup, was born on October 7, 1916 in Upton, Missouri, and departed this life on November 4, 2007 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a short illness, at 91 years of age.
Golda grew up and attended school in Texas County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Glen Casey on October 4, 1956 in Hartville, Missouri. They made their home in the Graff Community north of Mtn. Grove for over fifty years.
Golda enjoyed going to the senior center to visit with her many friends. She had done this for over thirty years. She also liked playing board games, card games and cooking for her family and friends.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Golda is survived by her husband: Glen Casey of their home; two sons: Roger Harrison of Idaho Springs, Colorado, and Raymond Harrison of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two brothers: John Stallcup and Herbert Stallcup, both of Bucyrus, Missouri; two sisters: Velma Menace of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Wilma Reik of Billings, Montana; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Golda Casey were held Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel with Rev. Curtis Dowden officiating. Jared Moore sang “I’ll Fly Away,” and “farther Along.” Pallbearers were John Calus, Barry Dowden, John Broos, Bob Harrison, Steve Stallcup, and Mark Stallcup. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Gaddis, Noel Dowden, Gene McGowan, and Brad Sweeney. Burial was in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery in Texas County, under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
