Hans Nicholas Betten

August 15, 1973 — October 9, 2015

Hans Nicholas Betten was born in Boone, Iowa on August 15, 1973. He was baptized in Iowa but confirmed his baptismal vow at Zion Lutheran Church, Dallas, Texas. His elementary education was acquired at the parish school of Zion Lutheran Church, Dallas (in which parish Hans was a member); his secondary education was achieved at Lutheran High School of Dallas (currently: Dallas Lutheran School).
After high school, Hans proudly assumed the persona of Aggie and continued his education at Texas A & M University (College Station, TX). He loved his time at A & M, marching with the Fightin; Texas Aggie Band, working on the Bonfire, and working at the Dixie Chicken. It is fitting that Hans passed away at College Station, a place that held so many good memories for him.

Hans loved his music! He was particularly fond of performing the music of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Waylon Jennings, and Johnny Cash. A Career in vocal music was a continuing dream.

Hans loved being a daddy. Jackson, his son, was the joy of his life. He was extremely pleased that Jackson was attending Zion Lutheran School (Dallas, TX) because he knew Jackson was getting a Christian education in which both the curriculum and the environment exemplified the tender love of Christ our Savior.

He died on October 9, 2015, in College Station, Texas. Unto God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit we commend him, in whose name he was baptized and his faith confirmed.

Hans is survived by his son, Jackson August Betten and Jacksons mother, Melissa Betten, his mother and step-father, Janet and John Miranda, his brother, John August Betten, his sister, Melody Loupe and her husband, and son, Steve and Stephen Loupe, his uncles, Richard Young and Lee Young and cousins who loved him dearly. Hans was preceded in death by his father, Dwain Betten.
The family requests that memorial gifts be designated for the ministry of Zion Lutheran School, Dallas, Texas.
