Harvey Lee Neher

Harvey Lee Neher, son of the late Wade and Pearl Neher, was born in Mountain Grove, Missouri, on March 19, 1923. He was raised in a family including three brothers and two sisters. He departed this life on February 26, 2016 at the age of ninety-two years and eleven months.
Harvey graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1941. On February 15, 1948, Harvey was united in marriage with Willetta Mae Halliburton. They lived on a farm north of Mountain Grove for thirty-eight years. Harvey raised beef cattle while working at Brown Shoe Factory. He also worked at the Tri-County Feed Mill and as an electrician wiring many houses in the Mountain Grove area.
Harvey loved to go fishing with family and friends and often went to Montauk State Park early in the morning. He usually did not return home until he had caught his limit. Harvey enjoyed visiting with friends and family and could easily discuss most any topic, often injecting many stories with lots of humor. Gardening was more than just a hobby for Harvey. He often raised enough food to gladly share with others.
Harvey and Willetta had one daughter, Janice Ruth, and one son, Leland Dwain. He was a member of Greenwood Church of the Brethren for many years followed by membership at South Street Church of God.
Harvey was preceded in death by his three brothers: Elmer, Galen, and Marvin; and one sister: Evelyn.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Willetta, daughter: Janice Bean and husband, Charlie Bean, of Broken Arrow, OK; son: Leland Neher of Ashland, MO; granddaughter: Jana Bean of Roanoke, VA; grandsons: Stock Neher of Ashland, MO, and Max Neher of Columbia, MO; and sister: Lorene Neher of Cabool, Mo.


Visitation: Monday, February 29, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in the Chapel.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
