Hayward 'Ronnie' Mcgowan

June 6, 1938 — November 18, 2010

Hayward Ronald “Ronnie” McGowan, son of Hayward L. and Ollie (Baney) McGowan, was born on June 6, 1938 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2010 following a long illness. He was 72 years, 5 months, and 12 days of age.
Ronnie grew up on his parent’s farm near Bendavis, Missouri and attended Dunsmore and Mtn. Grove Schools. He was united in marriage to Dulcie Rippee on October 20, 1955 in Marks, Mississippi. Four children were born to this union.
Ronnie was a milk hauler for several years and decided to go into dairy farming. He later opened a car lot and pawn shop in Mtn. Grove, Missouri.
He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing his yard, and tending to his beautiful garden each year. He looked forward to sharing his vegetables with his family, friends and neighbors. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ronnie attended the Calvary Temple Church near Mtn. Grove as long as his health permitted. He was baptized in 2006.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Dulcie on April 3, 2006; two brothers: Bud McGowan and Pat McGowan; one sister: June Riedesel; and by two infant great-grandchildren: Jayston Levi McGowan and Ryan Dillon McGowan.
He is survived by two sons: Rocky McGowan and Ricky McGowan; two daughters: Colleen Mabe and her husband, Richard, and Rhonda Ryan and her husband, Jim, all of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one brother: Wes McGowan of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; three sisters: Nadine Cantrell of Buffalo, Missouri, Jaxie Merchant and her husband, Alvin, of Graff, Missouri, and Charlene Smith of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him very much.


Funeral Service:
Monday, November 22nd, 10:00 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Sunday - November 21, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions:
American Diabetes Association c/o the funeral home.
Burial:
Hillcrest Cemetery
