Hazel L. (Gray) Oxley

Hazel L. Oxley, age 78 of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on July 24, 1931 in Brushy Knob, Missouri to Willis and Lula (Anderson) Gray.
Hazel was a very talented seamstress and made beautiful dresses for numerous little princesses.
She was saved and baptized at an early age. Hazel was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who lived an example to follow. She faithfully attended the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin daughters: Kara and Tara on May 23, 1950; and by three brothers: Marion, Earl, and Walter Gray.
She is survived by her loving husband: Jim Oxley of Mtn. Grove. They were united in marriage on May 1, 1949 in Mansfield, Missouri. They recently celebrated sixty-one wonderful years of marriage. Other survivors include her daughter: Kathy Jenkins and her husband, Bill, of Oronogo, Missouri; her son: Jerry Oxley and his wife, Merlene, of Manes, Missouri; three granddaughters: Tami (Jenkins) Fredrickson and her husband, Steve, of Carl Junction, Missouri, Tanya (Jenkins) Willmeth and her husband, Eric, of Springfield, Missouri, and Dawn (Oxley) Broos, and her husband, Andy, of Mtn. Grove; seven darling great-grandchildren that she dearly loved: Braden Willmeth, Katie Fredrickson, Megan Broos, Aubrey Willmeth, Eli Broos, Brooke Willmeth, and Connor Broos; a dear sister-in-law: Norma Gray of Cabool, Missouri; other relatives and friends who will sadly miss her.


Funeral Services:
Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Cornerstone FWB Church in Mtn. Grove.
No Formal Visitation:
Viewing hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, in the funeral home.
