Helen June Hyde

June 7, 1933 — January 4, 2008

Helen June Hyde, daughter of Helen Nimmo and the late David Nimmo, was born June 7, 1933 in Peoria, Illinois and departed this life on January 4, 2008 in the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool, Missouri after a long illness. She was 74 years, 6 months, and 28 days of age.
Helen grew up in Elk Creek, Missouri on a little farm at the edge of town. She was the oldest of four children. Times were hard, but Helen was always willing to do what ever it took to help out.
Helen made Jesus her Lord and Savior at a young age and loved her church.
When she was seventeen, she worked at the PX in Fort Leonard Wood and it’s there that a soldier named Randal Hyde caught her eye. They dated only a few months when they knew neither could go on without the other. On June 2, 1951, Helen became Mrs. Randal E. Hyde. Four children were born to this union. Helen loved her family very much and dedicated her life to their every need. She also loved to quilt and made a quilt for everyone in her family. Helen had a heart of gold and always put others before herself. Most of the time, she was the last one to go to bed and the first one up in the morning. She was employed as the Food Service Supervisor at the Texas County Memorial Hospital for over thirty years.
Helen was active in her church, always ready to serve others. She was part of the Saturday morning ladies prayer group and enjoyed her fellowship with them. Through the years, she was also involved in Women’s Auxiliary and was a Sunday School Teacher. Helen knew, someday, Heaven would be her home and this gave her great joy and peace.
She was ill for many years but even during her illness, she laughed often and loved much. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Praise God she’s with Jesus! Helen was preceded in death by her father, David Nimmo.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 ½ years, Randy Hyde; two sons: Ronnie Hyde and his wife, Terri, and David Hyde, all of Mountain Grove; two daughters: Loretta Craft and her husband, Paul, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Dianna Skyles and her husband, David, of Mountain Grove; her mother: Helen Nimmo of Springfield, Missouri; one brother: David Nimmo of Marshfield, Missouri; two sisters: Linda Emery of Isabella, Missouri, and Carol Cameron of Boonville, Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Helen Hyde were held on Monday, January 7, 2008, 1:00 PM in the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Moore and Rev. Roger Flint officiating. The Faithful Trio sang “What A Meeting,” and “Sheltered In The Arms Of God.” Pallbearers were Ryan Huff, Randal Hyde, Buddy Hyde, Jason King, Tyler Stilley, and Chad English.
