Herbert Ray Reser

June 18, 1942 — October 25, 2018

Herbert Ray Reser, son of the late Bill and Lorene Reser, was born June 18, 1942, in Macomb, Missouri, the oldest of thirteen children. He passed away October 25, 2018, at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri, surrounded by family.

Herbert’s family moved to Exeter, California, when he was a young teenager. Throughout his life, Herbert moved back and forth between Missouri and California, returning to Missouri for the final time in 1997 with his wife, Lynn, and their children.

Herbert was a handyman and greatly enjoyed remodeling houses and laying brick. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and fish whenever he had the chance. He felt like one of the best things in life was to be in the woods, cutting wood. He lived life to the fullest. He especially treasured time spent with his wife and his children just enjoying life. Herbert was a hardworking man and would do anything for anyone in need, whether he knew them or not.

Besides his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by two sons, Billy and Mike Reser, and by eight of his siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of their home, Lynn, four children, Brandon McIntosh, Brandi Emery and her husband, Jason, and Crystal Daily, all of Missouri, and Janet Clark of California, eleven grandchildren, Gracie and Logan Emery, Hunter Daily, Dillon Holt, Nathan, Alexis, and Austin McIntosh, Ali Barrett, Kira Moore, Caden and Colin Clark, six great-grandchildren, four siblings, Howard Reser and his wife, Brenda, Curtis Reser and his wife, Nellie, Donna Bond and her husband, Larry, all of California and Dean Reser and his wife, Judy, of Missouri, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom he loved very much.

He will be dearly missed. The strength and endurance he showed during his illness will not soon be forgotten. We are at peace now knowing he is with our loving Jesus. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses who cared for Herbert with respect and dignity and a special thank you to his daughter, Brandi and his son, Brandon, for helping with their dad until the end.

“I will forever miss my loving husband until we meet again in Heaven.”

Herbert’s wishes were to be cremated and taken to his favorite fishing spot so he could fish for eternity. Special song selections for the releasing of his cremains will be “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Amazing Grace”.
