Howard Alvin Deaton

Howard Alvin Deaton, the second son of the late Emery and Lilly Deaton, was born on February 23, 1928, in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and passed away on March 16, 2016, suddenly at his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 88 years of age.
Howard was a lifelong resident of Mountain Grove. He was drafted into the Army in 1950 and served stateside. Howard was a man of many skills with many professions in his lifetime. He worked as a factory worker at Brown Shoe Company, a carpenter, a TV repairman, a business owner, and finished out his career as a Steel Haulers truck driver. Howard retired in 1984 and spent his time at his residence.
Howard was united in marriage to Peggy June Stark on February 2, 1952, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Four children were born to this union.
He enjoyed traveling, going to the lake, and helping his children and grandchildren. Howard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had many friends and was known for helping those in need. Howard helped folks quietly without fanfare, need of notice, or repayment of deed. He will be solely missed by all his family and friends.
Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one son: Doyle W. Deaton; one daughter: Karen R. Deaton; one brother: Richard Deaton; three sisters: Clementine Peck, Ruby Dake, and Rhoda Bell Dake.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy June of the home; one son: Dallas Deaton and his wife, Pamela, of Ocala, Florida; one daughter: Roberta Page and her husband, Rick, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one brother: Virl Deaton and his wife, Alice; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a multitude of nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
