Howard Earl Walker

February 11, 1918 — March 1, 2010

Howard Earl Walker, son of the late Tom and Zola (Owens) Walker, was born on February 11, 1918 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri and departed this life on March 1, 2010 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. He was 92 years and 17 days of age.
Howard grew up and attended school in the Mtn. Grove area. He was united in marriage to Orlena Hoffarth on June 15, 1940 in Hartville, Missouri. Two children were born to this union.
Howard worked for the railroad in Kansas City early in life. He later worked for Kraft Foods and then was employed by Brown Shoe Company as a shipping clerk for over 20 years.
Howard enjoyed being outdoors, especially when working on his farm. He also enjoyed carpentry, gardening, horses, and spending time talking with his family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mtn. Grove. Howard was saved and joined the First Baptist Church of Mtn. Grove in 1938. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, Howard was preceded in death by one brother: Allen Walker; and by one sister: Mary Cain.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years: Orlena Walker; his son: Leo Walker of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; his daughter: Judy McCleary of Norwood, Missouri; his brother: Jack Walker of Elma, Washington; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Friday, March 5th, 3:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
Visitation:
Friday, March 5th, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM before the service in the chapel.
Ready for Viewing:

Friday, March 5th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home.
Burial:
Hillcrest Cemetery
