Jack Drinnen Gaddis

August 24, 1937 — June 24, 2013

Jack Drinnen Gaddis, son of the late Cecil and Pearl (Fogerson) Gaddis, was born on August 24, 1937 in Dawson, Missouri, and passed away on June 24, 2013 at his residence north of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness. He was 75 years and 10 months of age.
Jack grew up and attended school in Wright County, Missouri and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1955. He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1966.
He was united in marriage to Dixie Isenburg on August 7, 1964 in Cabool, Missouri. They lived in Kansas City and Raytown for thirty years, and while living there, they commuted for thirty years to the farm, with very few weekends missed.
To this union, two girls were born: Angela Jill and Amy Lynn. These two girls gave Jack four grandchildren: Josh Hefner, Bethany Chronister, Katherine Kostuke, and Emily Kostuke. He enjoyed his grandchildren. Josh Hefner gave him a great-granddaughter: Elizabeth Hefner.
Jack was employed at Sheffield/Armco Steel until 1995. He retired and moved back to the Gaddis’ Century Farm, which was established in 1849. He built a new home, which he was very proud of. He was a very successful rancher. He loved his cows and working on the farm.
Jack became a Christian in 1964. He enjoyed going for rides in the country and he also liked to listen to gospel music.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Jim Gaddis, Kenneth Gaddis, and Carl Gaddis; and by one sister: Gladys Crisp.
Jack is survived by his wife: Dixie Gaddis of their home; two daughters: Angela Chronister and her husband, Chris, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and Amy Kostuke and her husband, Greg, Lake Ozark, Missouri; four grandchildren: Josh Hefner and his wife, Ashley, and their daughter, Elizabeth, Bethany Chronister, Katherine Kostuke, and Emily Kostuke; two sisters: Ruth Williams of Kansas City, Missouri, and Evelyn Fox of Hastings, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, and a host of neighbors and friends who will miss him.
