James 'Jim' Albert Massey

April 9, 1954 — March 26, 2014

James Jim Albert Massey, son of the late Lyle Eugene and Laura Eva (Denton) Massey, was born on April 9, 1954 in Houston, Missouri, and departed this life on March 26, 2014 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, following a sudden illness. He was 59 years of age.
Jim grew up in the Plato, Missouri area and graduated from Plato High School in 1972.
He was united in marriage to Leta Rumfelt on February 26, 1994 in Fairview, Missouri.
Jim enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed taking care of his farms, beef cattle, and his crops. He was known as a hard worker.
He was saved at a young age and was a member of the Number One Church at Huggins, Missouri. He enjoyed attending services and visiting with his many friends.
Jim loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. He truly loved his family and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
His favorite pastime was spending time reading his Bible and spending time with God.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-years: Leta (Rumfelt) Massey of their home; one daughter: Jessica Dawn Lynch and her husband, Aaron Jay, of Huggins, Missouri; a step-daughter: Andrea Kay Morgan and her husband, Jason, of Upton, Missouri; a step-son: Brandon Campbell of Huggins, Missouri; one brother: Gary Massey and his wife, Leta, of Huggins, Missouri, three sisters: Tammy Richardson and her husband, Delmar, of Success, Missouri, Ina L. Kalina of Boron, California, and Betty Roderick and her husband, Wayne, of Upton, Missouri; two grandchildren: Ardon Jewell Lynch and Aria Laura-Jean Lynch; three step-grandchildren: Lexi Morgan, Ally Morgan, and Stetson Morgan; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives, neighbors, and friends.


Visitation: Friday, March 28, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Funeral Service: Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Burial: Number One Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Number One Cemetery in c/o the funeral home.
