James Leon Mattingly

James L. Mattingly went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 20, 2021. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family

James was born in Davis County, Indiana, to William C. Mattingly and Anna (Callaway) Mattingly on June 6, 1936, He was the second oldest of eight children.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1957. James married Kay Duncan, the love of his life on June 16, 1972, in Glendale, Arizona, and to this union two children, Bethany Ann and Duncan Clark, were born.

He retired in 2001 after many years of work in agriculture and industrial manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.

James is survived by his wife, Kay, of the home; his daughter, Bethany; his son, Duncan and wife, Amy, of Morrisville, Missouri; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers and three sisters.

A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Seymour.
