Janice Marlene Wright

July 15, 1936 — June 21, 2017

Janice Marlene Wright, daughter of the late Lawrence Richard and Florence Estelle (Dugain) Wilhite, was born July 15, 1936 in Modesto, California, and departed this life June 21, 2017 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was 80 years, 11 months, and 6 days of age.

Janice grew up in Modesto and graduated from Modesto High School. She married Donald Casey. Two children were born to this union: Sharon and Susan. She later married Floyd Wright.

Janice and Floyd moved to Norwood, Missouri, in 1979. Janice was the founder of Norwood Farmer’s Day and organized the Centennial Celebration. She also worked as City Collector for the water department in Norwood. She was honored as Grand Marshal in Norwood Farmer’s Day parade a few years ago.

Janice loved spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a good listener and would do anything to help people.

Besides her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Wright, in 1997, one sister, Jackie Milligan, and one grandson, Jeremy Aguero.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Casey of Ceres, California, and Susan Aguero of Rogersville, Missouri, three grandchildren, Heather Sumter, Autumn Bradley, and Keenon Aguero, seven great-grandchildren, Devin Brister, Andrue Bradley, Bryanna Brister, Alex Bradley, Chase Miller, Madison Aguero, and Skylea Shearer, and many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss her.
