Jimmie Nell Daniel

June 1, 1932 — March 2, 2015

Jimmie Nell Daniel, daughter of the late Ervin S. and Minnie L. (Hall) Mitchell, was born on June 1, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama, and entered into her Heavenly Fathers arms on March 2, 2015, at her home in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She was 82 years, 9 months, and 1 day of age.

Ms. Daniel attended Vancleave High School in Vancleave, Mississippi. She married her greatest love, Paul David Daniel, on September 30, 1950, in Biloxi, Mississippi. Six children were born to this union: Racheal, Patricia, Jimmy, JoAnn, Joy, and Walter.

While she and her husband were stationed at Clark Air Force Base, she attended the University of the Philippines, where she graduated with a BS degree in History and Political Science.

When she was able, Ms. Daniel attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri. There she was an active member of the church and the Methodist Womens Organization. She was also a member of the Garment Workers Union.

Ms. Daniel enjoyed traveling, seeing new people, and different cultures. She loved flowers and nature. Like her husband, she believed in replanting and conservation.

Ms. Daniel was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul; her parents: Ervin and Minnie Mitchell; one grandson: Adam Campbell; one nephew: Micheal Cloud; and two brothers: Edsel (Pete) Mitchell, and Elvis Mitchell.

She is survived by her six children: Racheal A. Campbell and her husband, Robert, of San Antonio, Texas, Patricia D. Huntley and her husband, Richard, of Luling, Texas, Jimmy D. Daniel and his wife, Deana, of Mountain View, Missouri, JoAnn Daniel of Cabool, Missouri, Joy L. Martinez and her husband, Santos, of Ingram, Texas, and Walter A. Daniel and his wife, Joyce, of Cabool, Missouri; her two brothers: Allen C. Mitchell of Napa, Idaho, and J.J. Mitchell and his wife, Evelyn, of Kuna, Idaho; her two sisters: Ruby N. Chrisco and her husband, Ernest, of Derby, Kansas, and Earlene Lemons and her husband, Bill, of Novato, California; nineteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.


Visitation: Friday, March 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, Mountain Grove

Burial: Oak Grove Cemetery
Near Wasola, Missouri

In lieu of flowers or plants the family has asked memorial contributions be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery or the American Kidney Association.
