Jo Ann Fields

Jo Ann Fields, daughter of the late Howard and Sylvia (Mitchell) Morgan, was born June 2, 1944, in Edmond, Oklahoma, and passed away September 11, 2019, at her home in Houston, Missouri. She was 75 years, 3 months, and 9 days of age.

Jo Ann’s family moved to California when she was young. She married Ray Calvin Fields Sr. while living in California. Jo Ann had four children. She moved to Missouri around 2003.

Jo Ann worked in produce packing houses most of her life.

Jo Ann loved her family very much. She was the first to call those she loved in the morning and the last to call at night just to make sure everything was alright. She greatly enjoyed crocheting and loved to make blankets for her grandkids when they were expecting. She also loved to dance. Her dance partner might be feeling tired after the dance but Jo Ann was ready to grab another partner and do it again.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and she will be truly missed.

Besides her parents, Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ray Calvin Fields Sr. in 1986, one daughter, Tammy Fields, one brother, Ronald Morgan, one sister, Wanda Bowser, and by two grandchildren, Tiffany and Megan Caraveo.

She is survived by one son, Ray Fields Jr. of Houston, Missouri, two daughters, Deborah Cota of Houston, Missouri, and Sherri Gilbert and her husband, Rocky, of Raymondville, Missouri, two brothers, Edward Morgan of Berryville, Arkansas, and Donald Morgan and his wife, Pearl, of Fresno, California, two sisters, Betty Watts of Berryville, Arkansas, and Linda Danforth of Bakersfield, California, seven grandchildren, Rocky Gilbert Jr., Marissa Reams, Joseph Gilbert, Teddy Anthony Caraveo Jr., Steven Ray Caraveo, Latasha Fields, Kelsey Yeet, and Brittany Gilbert, and numerous great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
