Joan Magdelin Scott, daughter of the late Henry and Magdelin Wildt, was born on May 10, 1930 in Washington, Missouri, and departed this life on January 24, 2007 in the St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, following a long illness. She was 76 years, 8 months, and 14 days of age.
Joan grew up and attended school in Washington, Missouri and graduated from St. Borgia Catholic School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Julian Scott on December 13, 1952 in Washington. Two daughters were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove, Missouri area for the past 2 ½ years. Joan enjoyed taking care of her family, sewing, doing crafts, bowling, and fishing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She considered her grandson, the love of her life.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Virgil Wildt. She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years: Julian Scott of their home; her daughters, Regina Scott of Niceville, Florida, and Rebecca Potter of Mansfield, Missouri; one grandson: Scott Helms of the State of Colorado; one great-grandson: Alexander Scott Helms; one brother: Harold Wildt of Washington, Missouri; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial services and burial were held on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, in the Springfield National Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO.
