Julia 'Judy' Rodery

November 11, 1938 — January 16, 2017

Julia "Judy" Alice Rodery, daughter of the late Lionel Norman and Frances Anita (Paul) Mahar, was born in Crawfordsville, Arkansas on November 11, 1938 and departed this life in Springfield, Missouri on January 16, 2017. She was 78 years, 2 months, and 5 days of age.

Julia graduated from Crawfordsville High School with the class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Joe Rodery on August 6, 1962 in Marion, Arkansas. Two sons were born to this union.

Julia received her bachelors degree from SMSU and masters degree from Drury University. She and Joe moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri in 1977 where she began a teaching career in the Mountain Grove Schools that would span 26 years until retiring. She taught various grades in the elementary and middle schools and was very passionate about teaching, always enjoying conducting a good science experiment.

While she lived in Mountain Grove, Julia was a devoted member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. She was always happy to serve in various ways in the church. After moving to Springfield, Julias home was a favorite meeting spot for family and friends.

Julia cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with friends and remained very socially active throughout life. Julia was a great Bridge player who achieved the status of Bronze Life Master. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by two sons: Patrick Rodery and wife, Sandie, of Rogersville, Missouri and Vincent Rodery and wife, Jan, of Edmund, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister: Bonnie Neal and husband, Jerry, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; and her sister-in-law: Beverly Mahar of Louisville, Arkansas; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
