Karen Raney

Karen Darlene Raney, daughter of the late LeRoy and Edith (Kelley) Robertson, was born on May 31, 1943, at Bendavis, Missouri, and passed from this life on July 5, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family. She was 79 years, 1 month and 5 days of age.

Karen grew up in Texas County and married Jack Robertson on July 23, 1960. Three sons were born to this union, Jerrell, David, and Dale. Jack preceded her in death on November 21, 1997.

She married Leonard Wayne Raney on June 24, 2004, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. They made their home on Whetstone Road for the past 18 years.

Karen had several factory jobs in her life. She later was a cook for many years at the Mountain Grove Elementary Cafeteria before retiring. She loved to travel, especially if it was a ride in the side-by-side. She particularly enjoyed camping and going to the lake with the family.

Karen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ollie Marie Robertson; two brothers, LeRoy Robertson, Jr and John William Robertson; and by two of Wayne’s children, Tim Raney and Tina Cook.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Raney of their home; three sons, Jerrell Robertson and his wife, Bridget, David Robertson and his wife, Chris, Dale Robertson and his wife, Shirley, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a daughter, Terri Lynn Spooner of Columbia, Missouri; two brothers, Leland Gene Robertson and his wife, Linda, Gale Lynn Robertson and his wife, Valorie; one sister, Katherine Smith and her husband, Duane; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
