Kendall 'Joe' Reed

May 30, 1964 — September 28, 2011

Kendall “Joe” Reed, son of the late Donald Edward and Norma Gayle (Sanders) Reed, was born on May 30, 1964 in Cabool, Missouri and left this life on September 28, 2011 at his residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri at the age of 47 years.
Joe grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew: Kiel Reed.
Joe is survived by one daughter: Kendra Collins and her husband, Chris, and their son, Aiden, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two sons: Jared Caston of Mtn. Grove, Missouri and Adam Caston of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers: Don Reed and his wife, Linda, of Norwood, Missouri, Jerry Reed and his wife, Joanne, of Cabool, Missouri, and Randy Reed and his wife, Gina, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; two sisters: Teri Reed and Karen Reed, both of Springfield, Missouri; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
In the words of the great Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Death comes to all, but great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold.”
Achievement is defined individually. For some that monument may be in the form of wealth and a big fine car in the driveway of the big fine house. For others it is the mark you make in this world by the kind of human being you choose to be. The finer things in life for Joe were the passions that lied within. His Lord, family, and friends he held dear and his kind nature and sense of humor rewarded him with the love of so many. He would do anything he could for anyone. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, floating, and fishing, naturally.
He loved music, listening, singing, and strumming the guitar and writing.
Joe’s beautiful mind was expressed in the things he loved to do. Whatever the medium: paper, glass, wood or stone, I for one of many, am in awe of the creative ability that Joe possessed. He was a collector of stones and arrowheads and found meaning in something simple as a friendship rock. No matter how hard the rain, he weathered the storms and his pain was our pain. Through it all, Joe brought the laughs! His heart of gold lined the path he walked on Mother Earth and his achievements are monuments in the hearts of those who knew him. A place that shall endure until the sun grows cold.
