Kimberley Shimel

Kimberley Gale Shimel was born January 14, 1966, in Springfield, Missouri, to Elbert Dewaine and Florence Chinice (Emerick) Shimel. She departed this life to her heavenly home to be with Jesus in her new perfect body with no more pain and no more health problems on November 12, 2022.

She was surrounded by her devoted, loving parents that took care of her 24/7 since the day she was born. She was also surrounded by her sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much, and we all loved her. There will be a big hole left in our hearts with her gone, but we can rejoice that we will see her one day again in Heaven.

Kimmy was one special girl. If she met you one time, she would remember you the next time she saw you. She always loved it when new babies were born into the family, and she would get to hold them. She also loved her dogs that she had throughout her life, as they would sit on her lap and keep her company. And we all know she loved her food, right up to a few hours before she left this world. She got to eat her final meal of some of her favorite foods, cashew chicken, rice, an eggroll, crab rangoon, and cheese cubes. When she was done eating one meal, she was always asking what she would eat for the next meal. She loved holidays and her family coming to visit her. A question she would always ask is “Are you coming to my house for Christmas?” The holidays will never be the same without her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ed and Dona Emerick, her paternal grandparents, John and Flora Johnson.

Kimberly is survived by her parents, Elbert and Florence Shimel of the home, her sisters, Debbie and Mike Johnson, Cindy and Robert Gage, Becky and Jr. Davis, and Tina and Steve Wierman, all of Seymour, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, as well as other family members.
