Lanny L. Ellis

January 24, 1959 — May 13, 2011

Lanny Loy Ellis, 52, of Graff, Missouri, passed away on May 13, 2011 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center of Springfield, Missouri. He was born on January 24, 1959 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, the son of Loy and Arlene (Parsons) Ellis.
Lanny married his best friend, Carol Yeager, of Mountain Grove on November 23, 2005. Lanny was a 1977 graduate of Mountain Grove High School where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. His love of sports continued into his adult life, if his TV was on, it was on a ball game.
In the last several years, he became more interested in gardening and devoted many hours with Carol and his parents to produce enough to supply canned vegetables for his entire family.
Lanny was proud to have two beautiful daughters, Missy (Ellis) Ross and Lana (Ellis) Driskill and they blessed him with two grandchildren, Connor Ross and Hadley Driskill. A very recent source of happiness for Lanny, was that he learned a few weeks ago that he has another grandbaby on the way, which will make Hadley a big sister.
Lanny is survived by his wife: Carol Ellis of Graff, Missouri; his parents: Loy and Arlene Ellis of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two daughters: Missy Ross and husband, Aaron, and Lana Driskell and husband, Josh, all of Mountain Grove; two grandchildren: Connor Ross and Hadley Driskill; one brother: Tommy Ellis and wife Leotta of Mountain Grove, Missouri; three sisters: Debbie Linton and husband Randy of Willard, Missouri, Lisa Goodnight Stutts and husband Larry of Gainesville, Missouri, and Vicky Beth Bennett and husband Dave of Cabool, Missouri; mother-in-law: Della Yeager of Mountain Grove, Missouri; two sisters-in-law: Vickie Harrell of Springfield, Missouri and Linda Strunk of Mountain Grove, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Lanny was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Edsel Yeager; his grandparents: Bill and Carlion Ellis, and Cloyd and Twila Parsons; and one brother-in-law: Dave Goodnight.
