Larry Eugene Amos

July 2, 1951 — October 12, 2012

Larry Eugene Amos, son of the late Burl and Goldie (Eden) Amos, was born on July 2, 1951 in Springfield, Missouri and passed away on October 12, 2012 in the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following an accident on his farm on October 1, 2012. He was 61 years, 3 months, and 10 days of age.

Larry grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1969. He was united in marriage to Wanda Turner on June 7, 1974. Two children were born to this union.

Larry owned and operated a dairy and beef farm for over twenty-five years.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and driving the country back roads. He liked to watch football and baseball, listen to the radio, and read. He also enjoyed listening to his beagles run on his farm.

Larry had many ups and downs during his life. During the last year and a half, he got his life back on track and was starting to learn to enjoy the good things in life.

Larry loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He liked attending their school events whenever he could.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Rachel Amos of Mtn. Grove; his daughter and son-in-law: Christy and Mike Hlavacek of Springfield, Missouri; his grandchildren: Alexis, Bailee, Ashbee, and Aubree Amos, and Ethan and Madison Daniel; one brother: Terry Amos and his wife, Patty, of Mtn. Grove; a nephew: Andy Amos and his wife, Suzanne, and their children, Andy Amos Jr., and Gracie; and other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
