Larry Wayne Stigall

September 5, 1951 — April 4, 2012

Larry Wayne Stigall, son of the late William Elmer and Pansy Lee (Key) Stigall, was born on September 5, 1951 in Springfield, Missouri, and departed this life on April 4, 2012 in the Mercy (St. John’s) Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, following a long struggle with kidney cancer. He was 60 years, 6 months and 29 days of age.
Larry grew up in the Manes area and attended school in Manes and Mtn. Grove. He was a truck driver for many with various companies, driving locally and over the road. He never met a stranger and enjoyed working and making new friends.
Larry was united in marriage to Kim Carter on March 30, 1991 in Mtn. Grove, Missouri where they made their home.
Larry was a caring and wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was so proud of his family. He loved going to basketball games to watch his favorite three point shooter. He also loved the special fishing trips to the lake and the catfish ponds. He acted like he was just fishing, but it was really a competition for the boys to beat the girls. He also enjoyed hunting every year with his boys, brothers, and special friends.
Larry had attended the First Free Will Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove over the past few years. He enjoyed attending services as long as his health permitted, where he had made special friends at each church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary Eugene Stigall and Lonnie Dean Stigall; and by an infant sister: Patricia Stigall.
He is survived by his loving wife: Kim Stigall of their home; his children: Taylor Stigall of the home, Andrew Noel and his wife, Alexia of Alliance, Nebraska, Ashley Gittings of Mtn. Grove, Adam Stigall of Hartville, Missouri, and Kirby Curtis of Clinton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; one sister: Evelyn Gray and her husband, Don, of Mtn. Grove; his special father-in-law: Junior Carter of Mtn. Grove; three sisters-in-law: Lisa Carter and her fiancé, Ralph Pennington, of Bucyrus, Missouri, Pam Klarenbeek and her husband, Alan, of Steen, Minnesota, and Jackie Stigall of Mtn. Grove; a host of nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; as well as good friends that were always there for him and his family through this six year battle.
