Laura Allyson Wells

May 11, 1969 — July 18, 2010

Laura Allyson Wells, daughter of Dwight and Linda (Gordon) Tate, was born on May 11, 1969 in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at her residence near Mtn. Grove, Missouri at 41 years of age.
Laura grew up and attended school in Missouri and Arizona. She was united in marriage to a New Jersey boy, Eric Wells, on May 12, 2000 in Mtn. Grove. They lived in New Jersey until September 11, 2001. A son, Eric Charles, was born to this union. They moved from New Jersey and made their home in the Mtn. Grove.
Laura continued her education throughout her life. She was a nurse’s aid for many years at local nursing home. She had a special way with the elderly and was well liked because of her compassion. She was very involved in her father’s care when he developed health problems. Laura was always concerned more about others than herself.
She was a compassionate dog lover and enjoyed spending time with her Boston Terriers, Pugs and Wiemaraners. She was also a huge Kansas City Chief’s fan and looked forward to football season each year.
Laura was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbor. Her son was the love of her life and she was very proud of his daily accomplishments. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Doris Wells; her grandparents: Walter Gordon, Mary Gorgon Vance, and by Thelma and Charlie Tate.
She is survived by her husband: Eric Wells of their home; her son: Eric Charles Wells, also of the home; her parents: Dwight and Linda Tate of Mtn. Grove; her brother: Dwight Tate Jr.; two sisters: Kim Curtis and Lisa Copeland; her cousins: Gregg Tate, Dan Tate, Chad Tate, Forrest Glain Tate, Susan Huls Moon, Jim Huls, Chris Huls, and Kirk Huls; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She and Eric had many hopes and dreams for their future, but the Lord had other plans for Laura. Even though we are hurt and confused at her passing, we know she is at peace and is waiting for the day that her family will be together again.
