Laura Louise Lewis

December 31, 1941 — July 4, 2019

Laura Louise Lewis, daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Epperson) Davis, was born December 31, 1941, in Ada, Oklahoma, and passed away suddenly at her home near Mountain Grove, Missouri, July 4, 2019. She was 77 years, 6 months, and 4 days of age.

Laura married Franklin Lewis on September 10, 1956, in California. Three children were born to this union: Earl “Lew”, Ginger, and Julie. Laura became a world traveler because her husband spent 20 years in the United States Air Force. She and Frank lived in Denver before settling on Frank’s family farm in Mountain Grove in 1976.

Laura loved fishing, dancing, gardening, collecting crystals, flowers, crafting, and being around her family. She was a homemaker, a preacher’s wife, and a woman of faith. Laura was a fiery redhead who would fight tooth and nail for her family and friends but God help you if you were on the other side.

Besides her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on October 17, 2000, and by two brothers, Paul and Roger Davis.

She is survived by one son, Earl “Lew” Lewis and his wife, Dana, of Licking, Missouri, two daughters, Ginger Rogers and Julie and Mark Berry all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, daughter-in-law, Cathy Lewis of Cabool, Missouri, nine grandchildren, Misty Davidson of Mountain Grove, Michael Lewis of South Carolina, Laura Lewis of Woodbury, Minnesota, Matthew Lewis of Puyallup, Washington, James Mabe, and Chera Striglio both of Mountain Grove, Amanda Weyerich of Roach Port, Missouri, Melissa Crowe of Hibbing, Minnesota, and Sara Barbe of Mountain Grove, eighteen great-grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Jim Lewis and his wife, Joyce, of Ozark, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Inga, of Texas, and many other relatives, neighbors, and friends who will dearly miss her.
