Leonard Keith Davis

October 1, 1943 — February 26, 2014

Leonard Keith Davis, son of the late William Newton and Mabel Grace (Zirschky) Davis, was born on October 1, 1943 in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and departed this life on February 26, 2014 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove, Missouri, at 70 years of age.
Leonard was raised in the Mountain Grove Community and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Neoma Barnes in 1964. Two children were born to this union.
Leonard was employed by Harding Glass for several years as a warehouse foreman and retired in 1990.
Leonard moved back to Wright County where he started a dairy farm until he retired again. He enjoyed spending time in his shop woodworking, and being outdoors, fishing, watching wildlife, hunting deer and hunting turkey.
He liked to play pool, cards, dominos, and visiting with his many friends at the senior center.
He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Leonard enjoyed attending services at the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Bill Davis and Ray Davis; and by three sisters: Edna Cooper, Hattie Lou Robertson, and Ruby McNabb.
He is survived by his son: Keith Davis and his wife, Melissa, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; his daughter: Sheryl Davis of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; a sister-in-law: Phyllis Davis of Colorado; two grandchildren: Allison Helton and Bradley Davis; one great-grandchild: Hannah Rose Helton; a close friend: Barbara Barnes of Mountain Grove; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service:
Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Visitation:
Sunday, March 2nd from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions:
American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
