Lester 'Kenneth' Freeman

August 6, 1947 — May 7, 2012

Lester “Kenneth” Freeman, son of the late Delbert and Beulah “Faye” (McCall) Freeman, was born on August 6, 1947 in Texas County, Missouri and departed this life on May 7, 2012 at his residence near Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a short illness. He was 64 years and 9 months of age.
Kenneth grew up and attended school in Mtn. Grove. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on March 16, 1970. While serving his country, Kenneth received several awards: the Sharpshooter M-14 Badge, VSM, Air Medal, ND SM, 2 O/S Bars, RVNCM W/60 DEV, and a Bronze Star.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Diana Royal on December 18, 1970 in Cabool, Missouri. They raised four children. They had made their home on Wall Road near Mtn. Grove for a short time.

Kenneth was a very honest man who made his family very proud. He was a friend to all and he was also known for being set in his ways. He enjoyed collecting quarters, knives, and guns for many years.
Kenneth enjoyed being outdoors, especially when hunting, camping, fishing, or just taking in his surroundings. He loved getting together with his sons, brothers, and buddies just visiting or doing some trading. He loved spending time with his family and friends and playing cards. He had a special dog named, “Nicknack,” which was a joy to him.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His greatest passion was spending time with his grandkids whenever he could. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
