Linda Lee Freeman

December 29, 1946 — January 17, 2008

Linda Lee Freeman, daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel (Stout) Hurst, was born on December 29, 1946 in Douglas County, Missouri, and departed this life on January 17, 2008 at her residence in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following a long illness, at 61 years of age, surrounded by her husband: Don, son: Randy, daughter: Lisa, and grandchildren: Missy, Derek, Sasha, and Sheena.
Linda grew up and attended school in Douglas County and was united in marriage to Don Freeman on January 16, 1965. Two children were born to this union. They raised their family in the Mtn. Grove Community where they made many friends.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be missed for her smile, kind and loving ways, and her thoughtfulness to others. She would do without if she thought it would make life better for those around her; such as a kind word, a loving pat on the shoulder, or a basket of food for someone in need.
She enjoyed having family and neighbors over for cookouts. She liked being outdoors gardening and tending to her flowers, watching birds, taking Sunday drives with her husband and her beloved dog, Billy.
Linda was saved as a young girl and attended the General Baptist Church near Dunn, Missouri. In the spring of 2007, she rededicated her life and faith in the Lord and truly believed with certainty that she would be taken home in the arms of angels to be with Jesus and loved ones who have gone on before.
She enjoyed Pastor Frank McCune coming and visiting with her throughout her illness, and for his words of spiritual encouragement and prayers. Later in her illness, she looked forward visiting with Chaplain Jeff Smith with Three Rivers Hospice.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Tyler Freeman; a brother: Raymond Darrel Hurst; and by her mother-in-law: Alta Freeman.
She is survived by her loving husband: Don Freeman of their home; her son: Randy Freeman; her daughter: Lisa Akers; one brother: Rick Hurst and his wife, Lora, all of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one sister: Wanda Ryan and her husband, Frank, of Phoenix, Arizona; her father-in-law: Lester Freeman of Mtn. Grove; a sister-in-law: Bonnie Field and her husband, Fred; her brothers-in-law: Roy Freeman and his wife, Linda, Dennis Freeman and his wife, Teresa, and Clay Freeman and his wife, Marsha; her grandchildren, Missy Freeman, Derek Akers, and Sasha and Sheena Rector; her very special friend: Jan Rector of Norwood, Missouri; nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.
Our lives have been blessed and enriched to call her: Wife, Mother, and Friend.
