Lindell Neil Holifield

September 20, 1948 — December 25, 2014

Lindell Neil Holifield, son of Loretta and the late Lee J. Holifield, was born on September 20, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas, and departed this life on December 25, 2014, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. He was 66 years, 3 months, and 6 days of age.

Lindells parents moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended Riverview High School. There he met his high school sweetheart, Jackie. Lindell and Jackie were united in marriage in 1967. Later they welcomed their first child, Christine, while Lindell was going to college and working as a stocker at National Food Store. After graduating from the College of Pharmacy, Lindell continued working at National Food Store. They then welcomed their second child, James.

Lindell and Jackie moved to Mountain Grove, Missouri, in 1976, where Lindell worked for Jim and Marty Hasek as a pharmacist in the medical clinic. In 1978, their son, Kurt, was born.

Lindell and Jackie purchased Tilleys Drug Store. The drug store had the original soda fountain. Lindell always wanted his customers to feel welcome and well taken care of. Through the years, Lindell and Jackie remodeled the drug store a couple of times. When a fire occurred on the square this year, Lindell and Jackie decided to make one more remodeling change. They decided to bring the soda fountain back to the drugstore calling it Holifield Soda Fountain.

Lindells wife and children were the love of his life. Lindell said many times, I am so blessed to have a new day with my family. I want God to get all the glory for all things.

Lindell greatly enjoyed family gatherings. Wherever his children were; he always was there encouraging them.

Lindells hobbies were hunting and fishing. He loved fishing with his son-in-law, his grandsons, and his hunting and fishing buddies. His trips to Colorado and Wyoming brought him many warm memories.
As his grandsons grew, he was always in the stands for basketball and baseball games, and mighty-might football.

Dad was loving, generous, kind, gentle, courageous, and forgiving. To know him was a blessing. From the day he was diagnosed, to the day he went to heaven, he never complained once nor ever asked why me? For over four years he woke up and went to bed with a smile on his face. That was our father.
