Lois "Jeanie" Maddox

Lois “Jeanie” (Littrell) Maddox, daughter of Joba Littrell and Esther (Powell) Littrell, was born September 24, 1951, in Mansfield, Missouri. She passed on April 5, 2022, in Fordland, Missouri, at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 12 days.

She married Ralph William “Bill” Maddox on May 6, 1973, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mountain Grove, Missouri. Together they raised five children: Anna, Patricia, William, Esther, and Pollyanna.

Jeanie had many talents. She was known for her cooking, especially her fudge. She was also a prolific canner, and was known for her delicious jam and jelly varieties. Jeanie enjoyed making crafts and was very talented in many areas. Jeanie did a lot of sewing over the years, both for herself when young, and then for her children and grandchildren. She was a master at crocheting, and made dozens of very advanced pattern blankets, and gave many as gifts over the years. Jeanie made hundreds of beautiful and detailed cards, and shared her love as she sent thoughtful words to many over the years. Jeanie also enjoyed candle making, cake decorating, planting flower beds, and gardening. She was an animal lover and had many cherished pets over the years. Jeanie was very active in her church and was devoted in her belief in God. Jeanie shared her love for God by working with the children in church, playing the piano and organ, as well as being a treasurer.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph William “Bill” Maddox, parents, Joba Littrell and Esther Littrell, two brothers, David Littrell and Louis Littrell, and one grandchild.

Jeanie is survived by one son, William Maddox (Lori) of Columbia, Missouri, four daughters, Anna Owens (David) of Armstrong, Missouri, Patricia Reeves of Armstrong, Missouri, Esther Saville of Powell, Wyoming, and Pollyanna Tinker of Joplin, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one sister, Vera Hart, two sisters-in-law, Nancy Littrell Wagoner and Sherry Littrell, and nieces and nephews.
