May 19, 1928 — May 2, 2013

Lois Louise Shannon, daughter of the late Elmore and Florence (Trumbo) Wade, was born on May 19, 1928 near Manes, Missouri, and passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center of Mtn. Grove, Missouri, following an extended illness. She was 84 years, 11 months, and 13 days of age.

Lois grew up in Wright County and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to John Earl Shannon on May 13, 1950 in the Willow Springs Free Will Baptist Church near Mtn. Grove. One son, James, was born to this union.
Lois was saved at an early age and was a longtime member of the Willow Springs Free Will Baptist Church, where she remained faithful throughout her life. She was very active in the church and helped with many activities as long as her health permitted. Some of these activities included teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and preparing fellowship meals. She especially enjoyed gospel music and singing in the choir.
Lois and John have owned and operated Shannon Jewelry in Mtn. Grove for almost sixty years. They have worked alongside their son, James, for many of those years. Lois loved being outdoors, tending to her flower gardens each year. She also enjoyed playing golf and going on picnics. Lois was known as an awesome cook. She looked forward to cooking for family gatherings, and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years: John Shannon, of their home; her son and daughter-in-law: James and Linda Shannon of Mtn. Grove; one brother: Herbert Wade of Mtn. Grove; two granddaughters: Tonya Anderson and her husband, Scott, of Norwood, Missouri and Tracy Zigmantas and her husband, Ben, of Summersville, Missouri; five great-grandchildren: Teira, Dakota, Skyla, Korben and Nathan; and a host of other relatives, neighbors, friends, store customers, and church family who will greatly miss her.
