Lowell Thomas “Tommy” Sutherland, son of the late Ed and Minnie (Schuette) Sutherland, was born November 14, 1931, in Norwood Missouri. He passed away December 13, 2019, at his home in Branson Missouri. He was 88 years and 29 days of age.
Tommy was raised near Denlow and attended school at Champion. As a young teenager, Tommy accepted Christ and was baptized. He continued to live his life as a devoted member of the Church of Christ. Tommy loved to sing and often taught music to others. He also participated in a quartet for many years.
Tommy was always a hard worker and had many talents for fixing things and helping others. He loved antique cars. Anyone who knew Tommy had probably seen him driving one of his antique cars in the local parades. Through the years, he worked as a truck driver delivering eggs to Memphis and also had a candy route. He drove a school bus for a time and owned and operated a radiator shop in Mountain Grove. He and his brother, Wayne, owned a salvage yard together until they sold out. Then Tommy went into the mobile home business where he and his wife, Barbara, worked together running their business for over twenty years.
Due to Tommy’s health, he and Barbara decided to move to Branson, a place they had always loved and wanted to live. They enjoyed the scenic drives they would often take through the beautiful Ozark Mountains.
Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle and will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by one daughter, Samantha Acra, and one sister, Esca Triplett.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara, of Branson, Missouri, daughters, Brenda Coffman and husband, David, of Mountain Grove, Rita Coble and husband, Kevin, of Mountain Grove, Tabetha Caldwell and husband, Dan, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, his brother, Wayne Sutherland and wife, Frances, of Mountain Grove, sisters, Anita Krewson of Mountain Grove, and Mary Auen of Mountain Grove and many nieces and nephews.
