Lowell 'Wayne' Crisp

Lowell Wayne Crisp, son of Harry and Nancy Elizabeth (Rogers) Crisp, was born on July 22, 1929 in Manes, Missouri. He was the youngest of eight children. He departed this life on February 24, 2014 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri, at 84 years, 7 months and 2 days of age.
Wayne grew up in the Manes Community. He married Evelyn Sumner in 1951 and one daughter, Cheryl Lynn, was born to this union. He owned a service station and garage in Manes for three years. He later went into the trucking business for himself, hauling grain to local farmers, and hauling lumber in the western states. During this time, he fell in love with the scenic beauty of the Southwest, and spent many summer vacations from then on in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and surrounding areas.
Wayne was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove and it was in this church, that on May 20, 1989 he married Sheila Jo Burnett. They were blessed with twenty-four years of marriage. After moving back to Manes, he was active in the Evening Shade Church.
Wayne lived his life with the philosophy that if you treated people as you wanted to be treated, that the same would be returned. He was well respected by those who knew him.
He always loved playing his guitar, and was an active member and officer of the Manes Music Makers for over thirty years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant siblings; three brothers: Giffen, Cecil, and Angus Crisp; and by one sister: Dorothy Gaddis.
He is survived by his wife: Sheila Crisp of the home; one daughter: Cheryl Lynn (Crisp) Kile and her spouse, Jim, of Billings, Missouri; two grandchildren: Tony Kile and Cheli Kile, both of Republic, Missouri; four great-grandchildren: Drayden, Courtlyn, Jaylyn, and Jayce; and a host of other relatives, many friends, and neighbors, who will miss him very much.

Thursday, February 27th from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM before the memorial service in the church.
