Lucille Marie Lathrom

Lucille Marie Lathrom, daughter of the late John Preston and Sarah G. (Coffman) Prock, was born September 1, 1923, in Douglas County Missouri, and went home to be with the Lord on November 17, 2019, in West Plains, Missouri, after a short illness. She was 96 years, 2 months, and 16 days of age.

Lucille grew up in the Mountain Grove area and graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Delbert “Blackie” Roosevelt Lathrom on September 6, 1946. Three children were born to this union, Bobby Lee, Danny Joe, and Watha June.

Lucille was a homemaker and also did babysitting. She loved working outside in her yard. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and they enjoyed her sweet nature and great sense of humor. Lucille was saved and baptized at an early age. As long as her health permitted, she attended church anytime the doors were open. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Aline Smith, Wilda Maynard, Myrtle Marlin, Stella Middleton, and Louise Melton.

Lucille is survived by two sons, Bobby L. Lathrom of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, and Danny Lathrom and his wife, Lori, of Mountain Grove, Missouri, one daughter, Watha Cardin of Mountain Grove, Missouri, five grandchildren, Benna L. Straub and her husband, Ricky, Brandon L. Lathrom and Rachael, Danetta Rodgers and her husband, Billy, Brittany Connell and her husband, Wade, and S. Coleby Cardin, nine great-grandchildren, Beranda L. Straub, Brylee L. Lathrom, Braxton Connell, Corbin Connell, Bladen L. Lathrom, Wyatt Connell, Coleby Cardin Jr., Brayson L. Lathrom, and Morgen Connell, and other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
