M. 'Lugene' Dobson

April 11, 1926 — December 21, 2012

Millie “Lugene” Dobson, passed away on December 21, 2012, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri. She was 86 years, 8 months, and 10 days of age. She was born on April 11, 1926 to General Warren Hicks and Maud Eliza (Knight) Hicks, in Buckhart, Missouri in Douglas County. She was a 1944 graduate of Mtn. Grove High School.
Lugene was united in marriage to Clarence H. Dobson on February 26, 1946.
She was a member of Rock Chapel Free Will Baptist Church north of Norwood, Missouri. She enjoyed attending services as long as her health permitted. She was also a member of the Town and Country Extension Club and a charter member of VFW Chapter 3770 in Mtn. Grove.
Lugene enjoyed sewing and quilting, and had made many items over the years for the VA hospital and a place that took baby quilts and other items. Most of all she loved her home, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence Dobson; a son: Donald Dobson; two brothers: Bruce Hicks and Barney Hicks; and by three half-siblings: Clinton Knight, Nola Knight, and Violet Knight.
She is survived by three sons: Kenneth Dobson and his wife, Sarah, of Abbeville, South Carolina, Terry Dobson and his wife, LeeAnn, of Mtn. Grove, and Perry Dobson and his wife, Jana, of Cabool, Missouri; a daughter-in-law: Ramona Dobson of Kingdom City, Missouri; twelve grandchildren: Kevin Dobson and his wife, Angie, Scott Dobson and his wife, Sabrina, Jason Dobson and his wife, Jeannie, Ben Dobson, Jonathan Dobson, Christopher Dobson, Shelby Dobson, Emily Dobson, Sherrie Cannon and her husband, Chris, Barry Chestnut and his wife, Alisha, Lindsey Schrimpf and her husband, Josh, and Nathan Atkinson; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother: Jesse Hicks of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters: Jewell Spurgeon of Mtn. Grove, and Virgie Jackson of Sedalia, Missouri; many very special nieces and nephews; and other relatives, neighbors and friends who will miss her much.
