Malvin Dean Ellis

Malvin Dean Ellis, son of the late Bert James and Dorothy Helen (Lathrom) Ellis, was born February 27, 1941 in Buhl, Idaho, and went to be with the Lord on January 12, 2019 at the Autumn Oaks Caring Center of Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 77 years, 10 months, and 16 days of age.

Dean grew up in Manes, Missouri, where he met and married Lela May Hicks. They were united in marriage on March 26, 1960 in Mountain Grove. Four children were born to this union: Mark, Marty, Deanna, and Tracy.

Dean enjoyed farming, reading old westerns, hunting, fishing, and riding horses.

Besides his parents Dean was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Lela Ellis, an infant son, Marty, an infant brother, Herbert Lee, and a sister, Barbara Jean.

Dean is survived by one son, Mark Ellis and wife, Suzanne, of Mountain Grove, two daughters, Deanna Edwards and husband, Keith, of Mountain Grove, and Tracy Schwert and husband, Kent, of Las Vegas, Nevada, eight grandchildren, Brandy, Travis, Whitney, Mason, Shaye, Aaron, Braxton, and Conner, nine great-grandchildren, Corbin, Tristan, Wyatt, Nebraska, Trevor, Zoey, Jeremiah, Eli, and Izac, one sister, Beverly Long and husband, Bruce, of Mountain Grove, and a host of other relatives and friends. Dean will be greatly missed by family and friends. The Ellis family wishes to express a special thanks to Autumn Oaks Caring Center and Three Rivers Hospice for their care and compassion.
