Marjorie Grace McKinney, daughter of the late James Emory and Lucy Mae (Steffy) Cole, was born on September 25, 1931 in Kingsport, Tennessee, and departed this life on Saturday, October 9, 2010 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri, following a short illness. She was 79 years, and 14 days of age.
Marjorie grew up and attended school in Tennessee. She was united in marriage to Allen Clinton Smith on April 7, 1949 in Gates City, Virginia. Nine children were born to this union. They later moved to Aurora, New York and then, after several years, moved to Indiana.
She was later united in marriage to Harland Henry McKinney on November 22, 1971. They moved to the Mtn. Grove, Missouri area in the early 1970’s, where they owned and operated the McKinney Motel for many years. Mr. McKinney passed away on September 24, 1997.
Marjorie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She taught 4-H sewing classes over the years. She touched so many lives and will be fondly remembered.
Besides her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her children: Frank Richard, Vernon, Brenda, Wendy, Anita and two infant children, all due to Cystic Fibrosis; six brothers: Charles Cole, Garland Cole, J.B. Cole, Herman Cole, Blaine Cole, James Cole, and Paul Cole; and by three sisters: Mary White, Georgia Qualls, and Dorothy Collins.
She is survived by two sons: Ronald Smith and his wife, Donna, of Mtn. Grove, and Blaine Eugene Smith and his wife, Bernice, of Aurora, New York; sister: Sue Ella Crain and her husband, James, of Peoria, Illinois; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.
Visitation:
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
Friends may come by funeral home after 1:00 PM on Tuesday for viewing.
