Martha Davis

Martha Lou Davis, daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Saloma (Butts) Lee, was born on January 24, 1935 in Houston, Missouri, and departed this life on August 16, 2014 at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove. She was 79 years, 6 months, and 23 days of age.
Martha married Bob Davis on October 26, 1952, and they lived in Orlando, Florida from 1952 to 1956 while Bob was stationed at Pinecastle Air Force Base. Bob and Martha owned and operated Davis Shoe Shop in Mountain Grove for many years. Martha enjoyed going to yard sales and collecting antique glassware. She loved to travel and went to Florida with her family many times over the years.
Martha was saved at a young age and had been a member of Faith Community Church of the Nazarene since 1956. She also served as Sunday School Secretary for many years. It was very important to Martha that her family be in church and serving the Lord.
Besides her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Davis; an infant son: David Wayne Davis; and three sisters: Dorothy Lee, Mildred McNew, and Mary Hill.
Martha is survived by two daughters: Teresa (Davis) Lindsay and husband, Mike and Penny (Davis) Green and husband, Tim, all of Mountain Grove; three grandchildren: Sabrina Dobson, Courtney Hook, and Brittany Sutton; five great-grandchildren: Schylar Dobson, Sydney Dobson, Seth Dobson, Shane Dobson, and Jasmine Hook; numerous other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.


Visitation: Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 6 PM - 8 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 10 AM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.

Burial: Hillcrest Cemetery
