Marylou Ross

June 4, 1940 — March 17, 2022

MaryLou Ross, daughter of the late Clark and Anne (Huelsburg) Hall, was born June 4, 1940, in Lincoln, Nebraska, and departed this life March 17, 2022, in Rolla, Missouri. She was 81 years, 9 months, and 13 days of age.

MaryLou grew up and attended school in Elmwood, Nebraska. Following school she worked in office jobs and eventually went to nursing school and became a Registered Nurse. She took great pride in serving the citizens of her community in the healthcare profession working at OMC hospital in West Plains, Missouri, and Baxter Regional in Mountain Home, Arkansas. MaryLou was a hard worker and didn’t like idle time.

She enjoyed farming and loved caring for all kinds of animals. In her prime years, she loved Jersey cow’s milk and would milk them and sell some of their milk. She always said it was so rich and good. She raised a variety of goats, which she and her kids showed at the county fairs. She also raised a variety of cats and dogs in her kennels. The last 20 years, she raised Chihuahuas and worked on bettering the breed so she would have better Chihuahuas then she started with. The animals in her life gave her great joy. She also enjoyed horseback riding.

In the warmer months, she would spend time outdoors pulling weeds and planting in the garden. Sometimes, she would have tomato plants and pepper plants taller than she was. They would produce so much produce, she would have to give it away.
She was very talented and enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, drawing, and coloring.

MaryLou served in the community of South Fork, Missouri, by taking in foster children and had many great stories to tell.

She was a member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she played the organ and piano every chance she could. She loved seeing the children and would give them suckers.

MaryLou had an exceptional memory, and she could recall things from when she was three years of age.

MaryLou is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Robert Ross of Mountain Grove, Missouri, three sons, three daughters, four step-sons, two step-daughters, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one brother, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. She loved all of her family.

There will be a celebration for MaryLou Ross at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mountain Grove, Missouri.
