Max Grayson Keene

Max Grayson Keene, son of the late Frank Raymond and Nell (Burns) Keene, was born on February 11, 1935 in Stoneville, North Carolina, and passed away on May 10, 2011 in the Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri. He was 76 years, 2 months and 29 days of age.
Max grew up and attended school in North Carolina and graduated from high school while in the service. He served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on January 26, 1956.
He was united in marriage to Alice Barnes on October 15, 1954 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Three children were born to this union. They made their home in the Mtn. Grove area for the past several years.
Max was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. He loved old western movies that he watched when he was young. He was also a distinguished poet and enjoyed helping those around him when there was a need.
Max was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Mtn. Grove. He enjoyed attending services and visiting with his many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years: Alice Keene of their home; two sons: Jack Burns Keene and his wife, Christie, of Mtn. Grove, and Charles Alexander Keene and his wife, Gina, of Oxford, Mississippi; one daughter: Kathryn Keene Giordano and her husband, Michael, of Highland, California; one brother; Jack Burns Keene and his wife, Joanne, of Zebulon, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation:
No Formal – Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 12th in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.

Burial:
3:00 PM on Friday – in the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Missouri
