Michael Mcintyre

September 5, 1951 — April 22, 2021

Michael Dewayne McIntyre, son of the late Charles McIntyre and Betty (Setoris) Waite, was born September 5, 1951, in Muscatine, Iowa, and departed this life April 22, 2021, at his home in the loving care of his daughter, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. He was 69 years of age.

Michael grew up in Davenport, Iowa, and attended Davenport West High School. He also attended Scott Community College and received his certification for welding. He welded for many companies over the years including Sears, John Deere, R.I. Arsenal, Tri-City Fabrication, and eventually retired from Bee-Line.

Michael was united in marriage to Mary Vessels on April 14, 1987, in Moline, Illinois. They had a loving relationship throughout the years, enjoying time spent together wherever their adventures lead them in life.

In his spare time Michael enjoyed motorcycle rides, stock car racing, shooting pool, throwing darts, pitching horseshoes, fishing, hunting, gun collecting, bowling, playing softball, and playing all kinds of card games. One of his greatest joys was coaching in the Dad’s Club Softball League.

Besides his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McIntyre, his son, Christopher McIntyre, three brothers, Charlie McIntyre, Cliff Chapman, and David Galloway, and three sisters, Cheryl Smith, Anita Bolkin, and Janet Galloway.

Michael is survived by three daughters, Christina Lorentzen and husband, Shane, of Davenport, Iowa, Melissa Peirce of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Jennifer Brown of Dixon, Iowa, one son, Michael Miller and wife, Jeannie, of Davenport, Iowa, three sisters, Barb Post of Tipton, Iowa, Twila Galloway of Davenport, Iowa, and Lori Erickson of Conesville, Iowa, seven grandchildren, Ian and Noah Brown, Morgan and Logan Allen, Anthony Garcia, Matthew and Cody Lorentzen, and a host of other relatives friends who will miss him greatly.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the McIntyre family in the care of the funeral home.
