Mildred 'Millie' Marie Hicks

March 27, 1930 — October 21, 2008

Mildred “Millie” Marie Hicks, daughter of the late Craig and Daisy (Bobo) Durbin, was born on March 27, 1930 in Isaletta, Ohio and departed this life on October 21, 2008 at her residence south of Norwood, Missouri in Douglas County. She was 78 years, 6 months and 23 days of age.
Millie grew up and attended school in the Mtn. Grove, Missouri area. She was united in marriage to Charles W. Hicks on October 28, 1950 in Paducah, Kentucky. Two sons were born to this union. They made their home in Michigan for many years and had moved to their current address ten years ago.
Millie enjoyed quilting and playing computer games in her spare time. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was saved and baptized at an early age and attended the Liberty Faith Church in Norwood. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Mike Hicks; one brother: Craig Arthur Durbin; and by a sister: Etta Mugluski.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years: Charles Hicks of their home; one son: Doug Hicks and his wife, Denise of Paw Paw, Michigan; five grandchildren: Alison, Kerry Ann, Megan, Joseph, and Matthew; two great-grandchildren; Sam and Katelyn; and a host of other relative, church family and friends.


Funeral Services:
Friday, October 24, 2:00 PM in the Liberty Faith Church, Norwood, Missouri.
Visitation:
Thursday, October 23, 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
Burial:
Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. in the Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI.
