Minnie Lee Sutherland

Minnie Lee Sutherland, daughter of the late Charles and Maude Schuette, was born on January 5, 1913 in Bristow, Oklahoma, and departed this life on November 16, 2008 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri following a long illness. She was 95 years, 10 months and 11 days of age.
At the age of thirteen, Minnie moved with her family to the Norwood, Missouri area. She was united in marriage to William Edward “Ed” Sutherland on January 29, 1929 in Hartville, Missouri. Five children were born to this union. They raised their family on a farm in Douglas County near Denlow and later moved to the Mtn. Grove area. Mr. Sutherland passed away on Juoly 15, 1994.
Minnie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. She loved spending time with her family and visiting with her many friends.
She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She also enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Minnie was a long time member of the Southside Church of Christ in Mtn. Grove.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Esca Triplett; a grandson: David Wayne Sutherland; one brother: Virgil Schuette; and by two sisters: Anna Strunk and Edith Schuette.
She is survived by her two sons: Wayne Sutherland and his wife, Frances, of Norwood, Missouri and Tommy Sutherland and his wife, Barbara, of Branson, Missouri; two daughters: Anita Krewson and her husband, Don, of Mtn. Grove, and Mary Lorett of Norwood, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Craig-Hurtt Chapel.
