Nathan Marl Kilgore

December 20, 1930 — January 12, 2022

Nathan Marl Kilgore was born on December 20, 1930, in Simms, Montana. He passed on January 12, 2022, at his home in Mansfield, Missouri, with many loved ones by his side.

In his young life, Nathan and his family moved many times to many different places mostly out west.

He served in the Navy three years. After his time in the service, he settled with his parents and siblings near Mansfield, Missouri, on South Range Ranch in 1957.

Nathan married Berna on July 16th, 1971, and they had six children together. He was also blessed with five children from his first marriage.

Over the course of his life, he was always eager to learn. He became experienced in many things such as electrical work, plumbing, logging, truck driving, and farming.

He loved to read; he always had multiple books that he was reading. He loved history and learning new things.
Nathan was a devoted husband, father, and friend.

The most important thing we wanted to share with other people was his love for Jesus Christ. He strived to serve Jesus Christ in everything he did. He always tried to seek the Lord’s guidance. He was always patient and kind. We are sad to have him leave us, but we know that heaven gained a faithful servant.

Besides his parents, Nathan was preceded in death by his brother, Barton Kilgore, sisters, Garnet Spear, Helen Kilgore, and Zella Kilgore, and two sons-in-law, Jim Gilbert and Pete Dannen.

He is survived by his wife, Berna, of the home, five sons, Erik Somirs (Rachel) of Lone Lane, Missouri, Scott Somirs (Rosana) of Brazil, Lasha Kilgore (Michell) of Ava, Missouri, Orvin Kilgore (Amy) of Seymour, Missouri, and Right Kilgore (Jesse) of Mansfield, Missouri, six daughters, Audrey Somirs of Knoxville, Tennessee, Daisy Gilbert of Sutherlin, Oregon, Cathie Clarno (Robert) of Orem, Utah, Joelin Elliott (Paul) of Mansfield, Missouri, Questel Dannen of Mansfield, Missouri, and Chana Kutz (Cole) of Ava, Missouri, 40 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, five brothers, Douglas Kilgore (Jeanette) of Ava, Missouri, David Kilgore (JoAnn) of Seymour, Missouri, Dan Kilgore (Susan) of Washington, Victor Kilgore (Lois) of Ava, Missouri, and Harry Kilgore (Dixie) of Mansfield, Missouri, and sister, Barbara Lehmann (Jonathan) of Mansfield, Missouri.
