Ola Mae Goodwine

August 26, 1911 — October 7, 2011

Ola Mae Goodwine, daughter of the late Benjamin Albert and Dona (Sanders) Smallwood, was born on August 26, 1911 in Ann, Missouri, and departed this life on October 7, 2011 in the Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mtn. Grove, Missouri, at 100 years of age.
Ola Grew up and attended school in Douglas County, Missouri. When she was a teenager her family moved to Tennessee.
Ola loved living in Tennessee and while living there, she was employed at a cotton mill in Dyersburg. She was united in marriage to Raymond Goodwine on November 30, 1929 in Dyersburg, Tennessee. One daughter was born to this union. They attended the Church of God where Raymond was the pastor.
In the early 1940’s, Raymond and Ola moved to Mtn. Grove where she worked a short time at the Brown Shoe Company. Raymond passed away on June 6, 1984.
Ola was a true homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. They never called her “Grandma,” she was always lovingly referred to as “Bobbie.”
She enjoyed canning and sharing her fruit and vegetables with those around her. She liked to be outdoors especially when sitting under her big tree, going to Lake Reelfoot in Tennessee, fishing, or mowing the grass and watching the clippings fly, or just working outside.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother: Ruben Smallwood; and by a granddaughter: Lavada Crisp.
She is survived by her daughter: Glenna Kidd of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; one grandson: Michael Kidd; five great-grandchildren: George Crisp, Kera Atchley, Brandie Robb, Derrick Hensley, and Nathan Kidd; six great-great- grandchildren: Jonathan Crisp, Ethan Hensley, Dale Meritt, Sawyer Kidd, Jaeden Atchley and Kaitlyn Atchley; and other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.
